INAUGURAL EDITION OF THE FESTIVAL OF TRAGEDIES OF THE NATIONAL THEATRE OF NICE

The creation of the TNN endowment fund is proof of this. It allows us to support this art that is very dear to us! We would like to thank all the donors who help us in this cause.
Today we would like to talk to you about the Festival of Tragedies of the National Theatre of Nice.
From June 19 to July 5, 2024, the inaugural edition will be held on the exceptional site of the amphitheatre of the Arena of Cimiez! The director of the Theatre, Muriel Mayette-Holtz, will honor the classical repertoire of the Greek tragedy!
“A Festival of Tragedies because we need to celebrate humanity in what is most beautiful and terrifying: the power of the soul, the sacred energy of feelings. The setting of the amphitheatre of the Arena of Cimiez will allow us to magnify the living by offering a plateau to its measure under the immensity of a Mediterranean sky.
This meeting of tears, this moment when the heart opens to cry out its desire, its confusion or its quest for love, we want it with all our strength. Sorrow must be expressed so that it leaves us with a peaceful heart.
This appointment u drama, we need to look him in the face so that he wakes us and frees us from anger. This rendezvous of monsters, from nights of nightmares, we will magnify it, brave it, recreate it so that our worst anxieties turn into beauty. If we hope for a time of lightness and distraction that summer offers us smoothly, it is also a time of the starry night when men aspire to cry in the privacy of their room. They mourn their missing loves, evil and lost dreams. The authors put words on this pain that has been running for centuries, the theater gives us to hear these sublime plays that tell the world.
