The Théâtre National de Nice unveils a colourful 2025-2026 season
The new season is full of energy and promise at the Théâtre National de Nice, where each show is presented as a vibrant nuance on the collective canvas of our emotions. The 2025-2026 season will be full of colour, as suggested by director and producer Muriel Mayette-Holtz: writing rich in contrasts, between bursts of joy, gentle nostalgia and shared wonder.
In total, there will be 34 shows, including two original TNN creations, alongside 22 co-productions combining theatre, dance, puppetry, circus and hybrid performances. It promises to be a rich and generous programme that invites everyone to be surprised, moved and to dream collectively.
The programme skilfully combines classical and contemporary repertoires: Phèdre, directed by Muriel Mayette-Holtz with a high-calibre cast, is one of the inaugural creations, while Gargantua, a daring epic by Hervé Van Der Meulen, promises a farce worthy of resistance through laughter and insolence. We will also see Jean-Luc Lagarce's Nous, les héros, as well as a reinterpretation of The Marriage of Figaro by young contemporary directors.
This season also draws inspiration from young audiences, with promising shows such as those by Édouard Signolet and David Lescot. The goal is clear: to forge lasting bonds with new generations and instil a love of theatre from an early age.
Muriel Mayette-Holtz, in her poetic vision, invites audiences to open the season ‘as one opens a book’, to become sensitive explorers of shared moments. A season that promises to be beautiful, human and vibrant - a veritable palette of emotions to be discovered from September at the TNN!
